Great list and I wish I had time to make it all. I work and have young kids and find I hardly have time to cook. We spend money for the sake of convenience and blow our food budget every month.

Will be great if your list include preparation and cooking time and shelf life.

In 10 years the Thermomix will be a robot that plan, shop and cook for us:-)

Fruit juices (or rather smoothies)! We make a healthy juice most days by blending chopped veggies, fruit, ice and water (e.g. 1.5-2.5 minutes on speed 8-10). Not only is it cheaper than buying them from a juice bar (or buying a dedicated juicer), you are retaining all the fibre which makes it healthier than a proper juice.

Was wondering how to source cheap fruit to make jams. Seems so expensive to buy fruit from shops to make it worthwhile. Thanks!

Do you have any markets near you Catherine? That is where I get a lot of my fruit and vegetables - much cheaper than the shops! :)

Pick your own - just have to find the right farm that isn't too far away.
I buy when it's priced to clear along with tomatoes.
