    Funkies Favourite Sandwich Fillers - November 2016

    November 3rd was INTERNATIONAL SANDWICH DAY!

    I asked in Funkies to "let’s all share what sort of sandwich fillers that you like to make in your thermomix?"

    So here they all are collated into one blog post.  If you have any more to add please feel free to comment below.

     

    Sue: Anything with mayo, but with crispy iceberg lettuce - Is good!

    Deb: Hubby loves silverside, beetroot and fetta!

    Deb: Cant go past shredded chicken or smashed egg with mayo!

    Judy: I've just made some great aquafaba mayo - tastes as good as 'real' egg mayo.  A chicken and mayo, egg and mayo or tuna and mayo sandwich on white sourdough would be my choice

    Tania: TM mayo with sriracha chilli sauce stirred through, TM shredded chicken, grated carrot and lettuce.

    Carmen: Egg and lettuce all the way

    Jill: Peanut butter and jelly!!! My mum used to say that it was the glue that held me together :)

    Jennifer: Bacon, egg and cheese chilli sauce

    Kim: I love how Thermie shreds Rosemary chicken, with fresh salad (including beetroot)

    Trish: This is to die for! - Ham sandwich filling/paste:

    Ingredients:
    30g onion
    200g ham cut in pieces
    2 hard boiled eggs quartered
    40-50g mayonnaise
    1 tsp mustard
    Salt and black pepper to taste
    1-2 tsp cut chives

    Preparation:
    1. Place all ingredients in TM bowl except the chives and mix 25-30 sec /speed 5.  Scrape down.
    2. Add chives and mix 5 sec / reverse / speed 3.

    Bernie

    : Leonie's shredded steamed chicken with mayo which of course has been made in the Thermomix.

    Joanna: Steak, balsamic onions, baby spinach, blue cheese and sun-dried tomato, garlic, lemon and basil sour cream.

    Ron: Roast beef and whole grain mustard.... nothing better :)

    Tania: Curried egg using ThermoFun Curry Blend, mayo, black pepper, cheese and shredded lettuce.  Quantity of curry blend really depends on how strong you like it.  Start off with blending 4 chopped boiled eggs and mayo with a teaspoon of curry blend.  Taste and add lots more if you're like me!

    Alison: Poached chicken, avocado, salad leaves and mayo

    Bianca: My 3 yr old daughter is obsessed with salami and cheese sandwiches!

    Bianca: shredded chicken - always use the ThermoFun recipe as it's great in spring rolls too!

    Annette: Curried egg for me

    Marion: Cheese with ThermoFun Bacon Jam.

    Janet: Vegemite... just saying ☺

    Belinda: Varoma chicken, shredded with chopped dried apricots, chopped almonds/sliver style size and mayo

    Tania: Mayo with wasabi stirred through it, tuna, avocado and cucumber.

    Anne: Shredded chicken and salad

    Tania: If you've not tried this one yet do give it a go.  We increase the small meatball production and have the leftovers in our rolls (ala Subway Italian Meatball style). Yummy!

    Tania: This is a 2015 ThermoFun member recipe we really enjoy on our sandwiches/rolls.  Actually the kids ask for this Salmon Dip.

    Lauren: tuna walnut dip in the basic cookbook with pickled ginger is very yummy on freshly cooked bread or bagels

    Darra: boiled egg

    Sarah: Herbie the chook and some salad!

    Tania: Pulled pork with TM made coleslaw.

    Tania: Nothing wrong with a basic jam sandwich either!  Actually these taste anything but basic!  Berry Cherry Jam and Monkey Jam.

    Tania: Leftover silverside beef sandwiches with hot English mustard and pickle.

    Tania Hommus Guacomole (2014 member recipe), cheese and salad sandwich

    Tania: Falafel and tabouli (2015 member recipe) wraps.

    Tania: Chicken Larb (2015 member recipe) is delicious in a wrap with crunchy iceberg lettuce, cucumber and grated carrot.
