Honey Mustard Chicken! :) This recipe was originally inspired by a ThermoFunky member named Stevie. Between the two of us we kept tweaking it and we feel we have perfected it. :) The mix of the two mustards and the honey gives it a really delicious flavour.
Ingredients
- 1 garlic clove, peeled
- 1 large onion, peeled and halved
- 20g olive oil
- 1 teaspoon turmeric, ground
- 50g plain flour
- 150g water (mix the flour well into this water)
- 1000g chicken thighs, cubed
- 30g TM vegetable stock concentrate
- 20g wholegrain mustard
- 50g Dijon mustard
- 60g honey
- 200g cream
- sprinkle of cracked pepper
RICE:
- 400g rice
- 900g boiling water from kettle
Instructions
- Place garlic, onion and oil into TM bowl and chop 3 sec / speed 5.
- Scrape down and sauté 5 mins / Varoma / speed 1 / MC off.
- Add turmeric, flour/water mixture and cook 1 min / 100°C / speed 1.
- Add chicken, stock, mustards and honey and cook 5 mins / 100°C /
speed 1 / Reverse. - Add cream, cracked pepper and continue cooking 13 mins / 100°C /
speed 1 / Reverse. - Transfer to pre-warmed ThermoServer to keep hot.
- No need to wash TM bowl as the flavour adds to the rice.
Cook Rice:
- Place rice into simmering basket and rinse under cold tap until water runs clear.
- Pour boiling water into TM bowl.
- Carefully insert basket into TM bowl with rice and cook 16 mins / 100°C /
speed 4.

OMG Leonie ... My lot - who are all the harshest critics ever - ALL went back for seconds. Absolutely delicious. We had ours with mash & broccoli/cauliflower as we had rice last night, and I used breast not thighs so cooked for another 3 mins on Varoma. A winner, thank you!

Great recipe. I haven't made anything like this in a long time as I refuse to buy things in a jar. This has great flavour, subtle mustard taste and not overpowering. Will be making again.
