I so love a whole meal that is cooked in the Thermomix. Chicken, sauce, rice and steamed vegetables all done in just a little over half an hour! This recipe was inspired from a Donna Hay recipe.
Ingredients
- 2 garlic cloves, peeled
- 5 cm fresh ginger, quartered
- 1 onion, peeled and halved
- 20g olive oil
- 100g honey
- 30g oyster sauce
- 50g lime juice
- 2 teaspoon cornflour
- ¼ cup water (mix the flour well into this water)
- 20g tamari (or soy sauce)
- 650g chicken thighs, cubed
- 400g rice
- 900g boiling water from kettle
- vegetables of choice for steaming
- spring onions, sliced for garnish
Instructions
- Place garlic, ginger, onion and oil into TM bowl and chop 3 sec / speed 5.
- Scrape down and sauté 5 mins / Varoma / speed 1 / MC off.
- Add honey, oyster sauce, lime juice, flour/water mixture, tamari and chicken and cook 18 mins / 100°C / speed soft / Reverse / MC off.
- Place chicken into pre-warmed ThermoServer to keep warm.
- Place rice into simmering basket and rinse under cold tap until water runs clear.
- Pour boiling water into TM bowl. Carefully insert basket into TM bowl and cook
16 mins / 100°C / speed 4. - While rice is cooking place vegetables of choice into Varoma and steam 5-10 mins depending on type of vegetables.
- Serve chicken with rice and vegetables and garnish with spring onions.

Although step 2 when you Saute the onion garlic ginger should it say add oil?
