Now you know why I had such a "random" question the other day in ThermoFunkies :D I have a beautiful thermomix Port and Fig Jam to share with you! DELICIOUSNESS in a jar!!!!!
Now I don't always have ulterior motives when asking questions on ThermoFunkies, but more about whether you will actually use the recipe, as there is no point giving you a recipe that no one will make! Sooooooooooooooooooo go and raid the trees, beg the neighbours, grab yourselves some figs and get to making this jam! Don't muck around though, as very sadly the fig season is very short!
What do you do with this after you have made it?
- Crackers with cheese and a nice glass of wine :D
- How about on a sandwich with some grilled onions and some bacon/proscuitto
- Serve alongside a grilled piece of chicken/pork as a "sauce"
- On a slice of thick toast
- Stir through some yoghurt
- Warm Goats cheese tartlets topped with a little port and fig jam!
Okay that's it I need to go and have some of this - my mouth is watering! Okay one more idea - it's great to give as a gift as well!
With many thanks to a wonderful ThermoFun club member, Julie McKay for sharing her recipe! It's a staple in the fridge now!
