Thermomix Thai Prawn Dumplings are an amazing entree for 4 or 5 people - it isn't a stand alone meal. Although that being said, if you were looking for a meal for 2 this would be perfect. I may or may not have eaten this portion after the photo shoot!
If you're not fussed on spicy food, these dumplings will still suit. It has a nice little bite but once served in the sauce it does "cool it down".
I would accompany these with the Asian Pork Belly or Chinese UnFried Rice.

Ingredients
Sauce
- 1 garlic clove, peeled
- handful fresh coriander
- handful fresh basil
- 1 spring onion, quartered
- 400g coconut milk
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
- ¼ teaspoon hot chilli sauce
- 2 tablespoon raw sugar
- 1 teaspoon ThermoFun Curry Blend
Filling
- 1 garlic clove, peeled
- 250g raw prawns, peeled
- 2 spring onions, quartered
- 1cm fresh ginger
- 10g oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- ¼ teaspoon hot chilli sauce
- 30 wonton/dumpling wrappers
- 1000g boiling water from kettle
Instructions
Sauce
- Place garlic, coriander, basil and spring onion into TM bowl and chop 3 sec / speed 8.
- Add remaining sauce ingredients and cook 2 mins / 100°C / speed 1.
- Set aside into pre-warmed ThermoServer to keep hot.
Filling
- Place all filling ingredients (except wonton wrappers and boiling water) into TM bowl and chop 1 sec / Turbo.
- Scrape down and repeat.
No need to wash TM bowl. - Oil Varoma to prevent sticking.
- Place 1 teaspoon of filling into wonton wrappers. Brush edges of wrapper with water (finger dipped in water works well!) and fold wrapper over in half. Press edges firmly to join and place onto Varoma tray.
- Pour boiling water into TM bowl and place assembled Varoma onto TM lid and steam 12 mins / Varoma / speed 2.
- Divide sauce equally between bowls and place dumplings on top.
