One of my favourite commercial dips before having a Thermomix was a French Onion dip. I have finally managed to replicate this dip using my own spices and make it from scratch. Just like a bought one without all the artificial ingredients! 🙂
Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp ThermoFun French Onion Soup Mix
- 250g cream cheese (room temp.)
Instructions
- Place all ingredients into TM bowl and mix 10 sec / speed 6.
- Scrape down and repeat.
- Enjoy dip with sliced fresh vegetables or crackers.

Loved this. Will blitz herbs first next time as a little grainy but other than fantastic.
Pleased you enjoyed it Jennifer. 🙂
So pleased to find some standard stuff “thermodized” and is this is a family fav I will be trying it out soon as my tm5 arrives
Finally I found a great French onion dip recipe! Little confused about the dry mustard though so left it out. Is it mustard powder or something else??
Hi Julie – yes it is dry mustard powder. 🙂
Thanks so much
Just whipped this up for New Year’s Eve tonight! Very easy to do, although I did have to purchase some new spices (just means I’ll have to make it again!) I couldn’t find garlic powder so substitued garlic flakes and left out the mustard powder – couldn’t find that either. But as a HUGE lover of French onion dip I give this a thumbs up! Great to know exactly what I’m eating
Pleased it’s a winner Ali! 🙂
Great taste. It was a bit harder / thicker consistency than I was looking for so added some sour cream. Perfect !
Love this dip…..so easy and quick and tastes way better than one that is bought! I love how I had all the ingredients in my pantry/fridge (well the two ingredients needed). Wish I had made this earlier.
Great to hear Colleen. I have many more delicious dips on this link for you to try. 🙂
