This is a very easy and tasty recipe using my tandoori spice mix. I hope it encourages those of you that haven't used your varoma yet to give it a try!
Ingredients
- 1cm fresh ginger
- 1 garlic clove, peeled
- ThermoFun Tandoori Spice Mix
- 100g natural yoghurt
- juice of half lemon
- 1000g boiling water from kettle
- 4-6 salmon fillets
- chopped coriander, to serve
Instructions
- Place ginger and garlic into TM bowl and grate 3 sec / speed 9.
- Add Tandoori Spice Mix, yoghurt and lemon juice and mix 5 sec / speed 7.
- In a plastic bag or bowl, marinate the salmon with the yoghurt mix for 1 hour.
- Wet and squeeze some baking paper and lay flat onto the Varoma tray.
- Pour boiling water into TM bowl, then place the salmon steaks onto the Varoma tray, squeeze out of bag any yoghurt mix and spread on top of salmon.
- Place assembled Varoma onto TM and cook 15 mins / Varoma / speed 2. NB: the cooking time will vary depending on the thickness of the salmon.
- Serve with mint and coriander chutney if desired.

Optional
Potatoes and/or other vegetables cut into pieces can be steamed in the simmering basket and or the bottom layer of the varoma at the same time that the salmon is steaming in the varoma.
