As it is a few days after Christmas, we like most people, have way too much ham and someone on facebook asked me if I could make my Bacon Jam using ham instead of bacon.
I got thinking and I decided that would be “Ham Jam” (I feel like I’m in a Dr Seuss book!!!) so I tried it out and it was delicious, in fact I think it may be better than the bacon jam! (If that is actually possible!)
So last night we had for dinner; ham with ham jam! Even though Steve my hubby, said “that’s ridiculous you can’t have ham with ham jam” (fortunately my hubby’s name is not Sam!!)
So I served leftover cold leg ham with three different salads:
If you have not yet made the Bacon Jam I highly recommend you do. This is the most amazing jam and can be used with so many things. For example it will turn your humble burger into a gourmet burger, boring sandwich fillings get a lift, bake it on top or in the middle of your meatloaf, inside your toastie with melted cheese, a tasty sauce to eat with your omelette, with your breakfast scrambled eggs, as part of a party charcuterie or cheese platter, as a finger food spread on crackers with cream cheese, or fill small tart or vol au vent cases, serve alongside roast meats, BBQ meat condiment, on top of a T-Bone steak, on top of baked potatoes, as a pizza base sauce the list is endless!
