ThermoFun - Cheese, Bacon and Spaghetti Pie - Week 46, 2014

    Ingredients

    • 150g spaghetti
    • 130g cheddar cheese, cubed
    • 150g carrot, quartered
    • 230g zucchini, quartered
    • 100g short cut bacon, quartered
    • 5 eggs
    • handful pitted olives
    • chives, large handful chopped or 1 teaspoon dried
    • salt and pepper, to taste
    • salad or vegetables, to serve

    Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 180˚C. Grease a pie/quiche dish.
    2. Cook spaghetti in TM bowl as per EDC/BCB instructions and set aside in pre-warmed ThermoServer.
    3. Place cheese into TM bowl and grate 10 sec / speed 9. With aid of spatula remove a small amount and set aside to sprinkle on pie before baking.
    4. Add carrot, zucchini, bacon, eggs, olives, chives, salt and pepper and chop 8 sec / speed 5.
    5. Arrange spaghetti evenly across the base of dish and pour egg mixture over top.
    6. With aid of a fork, jiggle the spaghetti to allow egg mixture to seep through to the base of the dish.
    7. Sprinkle handful of cheese on top.
    8. Place in oven and cook 30 mins or until egg mixture is set and top of pie is golden.
    9. Serve with salad or vegetables.

Made with konjac noodles. A new family favorite that will go on our regular menu rotation.

G'day! I LOVED this recipe and think it would be great followed "as is!" Leonie!
As I always like to minimize food wastage and use up ingredients I have on hand, I used your recipe 'as a guide" and created a Mediterranean twist; something I would not be able to do without your original recipe, guidance and suggestions too!
Added 2 tbsp sliced kalamata olives, 2 tbsp sundried tomatos in oil drain; used combination of goat's cheese and feta combined with the chives.
GREAT original recipe and photo! Thank you for inspiring me!
      Cheers! Joanne
